Instant gratification

I finished the blue and white bamboo socks yesterday evening. I swear that it took me forever to do the leg ribbing!


Started on another project (of course), a pair of footlets or footies. This is the yarn that I dyed at TNNA and am liking the way the colors are knitting up. It is kind of random and yet you can see a little bit of a zigzag. I only had 50 grams of sock yarn so I needed a project which didn't use very much. I'd recommend this project for any sock knitter that likes an instant gratification project. The first thing that you do is turn the heel and the rest of it is taking no time at all. I've been using the adjustments that are in the July 1, 2005 archives of I'm Knitting As Fast As I Can (scroll down to the 1st's post).


The wild black raspberries are already ripening! I just realized that the colors are perfect for Project Spectrum.

PS Socks finished

I finally Kitchnered the sock heels together and weaved in the ends! They've only been finished for 2 weeks!

Socks and scales

I measured a couple of skeins this morning including a few that I had divided by hand. One of those, I was only an ounce off between the two balls. Of course, I counted each and every time that I wrapped the yarn around the back of the chair. This should make it so much easier.

Spectrum Socks

After the speed knitting last weekend, this past week has been disappointing. I was scheduled to close 3 nights this week and that really eats up the evening knitting time. All of this means that I am still finishing the Austermann Step socks. So, logically, I started another pair of socks. Ha! These new socks are actually the Project Spectrum colors for Feb and Mar.

I also dug some ribbon yarn out of my stash which also works for Project Spectrum. The plan is to make a summer scarf out of it.

Project Spectrum!

Lolly at Lolly Knitting Around has initiated the second round of Project Spectrum. I thought this idea sounded like a lot of fun and useful for getting me out of my colour ruts. What can I say? I like green and blue!

These are the colors for the next couple of months. It seems like it has a whole lot of flexiblity and time to do each project. I've definitely signed up for this knit-a-long

Green, Yellow, Pink

Red, Black, Metallics

Brown, Orange, Purple

Finished my first project of the year, the Liesel Scarf made out of the mystery blue yarn from the stash. It ended up being a tad longer (and wider) than I originally planned. Oops. The pattern was just so much fun to do. I am definitely going to be sending it to someone for a late Christmas present.
